80 degree polygon turning inserts are available in two shapes: square and hexagonal. Generally speaking, ISO codes start with the English "C" or "W". When used, it can be used on both sides. Those starting with "C" have a total of four cutting edges; those starting with "W" have a total of six cutting edges. It seems that most people on the market choose blades that start with “W”. The advantage is that they have a large cutting edge for rough turning. The blade clamped to the handle is also stronger and tougher than other shapes, perhaps because the internal angle is 80 degrees and can withstand greater resistance.

The common R angles at the front end of the tool tip are 0.4R, 0.8R and 1.2R, and the more special ones are 1.6R or 2.0R. There are also many shapes of chip flutes, including the abbreviated bump type and groove type. (R side and L side), block type, full plane type, the groove shape used depends on the material being processed.
